Old Woman Dies In Fire At Building In Kurla

Mumbai, 15th February 2023: A massive fire broke out in a 12-storey building in Kurla at 7 am on Wednesday. Residents were trapped on different floors as the smoke spread from the fourth floor to the tenth floor. A 70-year-old woman died in this accident.

The fire broke out at building number seven of the Premier Complex in the Kohinoor City area of Kurla West at around 7 am on Wednesday. This building is close to HDIL residential complex. Smoke had spread from the fourth floor to the tenth floor of this building. Due to this, residents were stuck on different floors. On getting the information about the incident, the fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot. The firemen tried their best to bring the residents trapped in the building to the terrace safely. Shakuntala Ramani (70) died in this accident.

The fire brigade has succeeded in bringing all the residents stuck on the terrace safely down the stairs and the fire has been extinguished. Nine people suffered due to suffocation in this accident. Among them, one woman died, and eight others were admitted to Rajawadi Hospital.
