Panvel Suburban Station Set for 38-Hour Rail Block: Major Disruption Ahead

Panvel, 28th September 2023: Panvel Suburban Station is gearing up for a substantial 38-hour traffic block. This substantial interruption in railway operations is slated to begin at 23:00 hrs on September 30, 2023, and will persist until 13:00 hrs on October 2, 2023.

Purpose:

The primary objective of this extended block is to facilitate the remodelling of Panvel’s suburban yard. This ambitious project aims to construct two brand-new lines for the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, bringing enhanced connectivity and efficiency to the region.

Impact on Harbour Line Suburban Trains:

During this block period, commuters can expect significant disruptions:

Suburban services will be temporarily halted between Belapur and Panvel Station on both Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines.
Harbour line suburban services will see alterations, with trains short-terminating or originating at Belapur, Nerul, and Vashi stations.
Trans-Harbour line suburban services will only operate between Thane and Nerul/Vashi stations.
