Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Pledges Rs. 300 Crore for Development of Malegaon Budruk in Baramati Taluka

Baramati, 14th March 2024: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar expressed his commitment to prioritizing the development of Baramati taluka, aiming to set an exemplary standard not only within Maharashtra but also across the nation. He emphasized the need for Malegaon Nagar Panchayat to undergo a transformational development akin to Baramati City. Pawar pledged to secure over 300 crores in funds for the comprehensive advancement of Malegaon Budruk and its proposed projects in the upcoming budget.

In the initial phase, a budget allocation of Rs. 20 crores has been designated to fulfil Malegaon’s basic service requirements at the governmental level. Pawar urged the people of Malegaon to support his Lok Sabha candidate, highlighting his endeavours for their welfare. The audience echoed their support through slogans and applause during Pawar’s address in Malegaon Budruk, amidst the backdrop of the Baramati Lok Sabha elections.

Pawar reassured the audience regarding agricultural water availability for farmers until the monsoon, as well as the tariff adjustments for the co-generation project. He credited the like-minded government at both national and state levels for facilitating smooth fund allocation. Pawar emphasized the significance of his involvement in the Maharashtra Government, which enabled the resumption of suspended development projects worth thousands of crores in Baramati.

Reflecting on the critical situation regarding the Neera River’s water release and pending development projects, Pawar underscored the necessity of their timely resolution. He highlighted the progress made in Baramati taluka, including the establishment of a new bus station, the beautification of the Karha River, and the completion of various development initiatives such as police headquarters, roads, streetlights, sewage facilities, and educational facilities.

Pawar urged Malegaon Budruk residents to prioritize development over emotional considerations, promising to modernize and beautify the city. The gathering included prominent figures such as Keshavrao Jagtap, Balasaheb Taware, Deepak Taware, and others. Professor Anil Dhumal moderated the meeting.

Pawar humorously remarked on the factional politics within Malegaon Nagar Panchayat, expressing a light-hearted desire to potentially become its first Chairman. However, amidst laughter and supportive voices from the audience suggesting his candidacy for Chief Minister, Pawar gracefully redirected the conversation, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the Lok Sabha elections first.
