Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Unveils Revamped Synthetic Track, Boosting Athletic Prospects

Pimpri Chinchwad, 16th March 2024: The synthetic track at the Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Krida Sankul in Indrayani Nagar, Bhosari, under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), has been completed and inaugurated after a year-long renovation. This marks a significant milestone for athletes in the Pimpri-Chinchwad city area, providing them with a dedicated space for training and competitions.

Located in Indrayani Nagar, this sports complex now boasts a state-of-the-art 400-meter, eight-lane artificial runway, offering athletes a conducive environment for honing their skills. The previous track had deteriorated over time due to rigorous use by athletes and various competitions, compounded by exposure to external elements. Recognizing the need for an upgrade, the initiative to replace the old runway was undertaken a year ago, with an investment of four crores.

Before the completion of the new track, athletes had to resort to practising in alternative locations, adversely affecting their training regimen and overall performance. The absence of a proper running track posed a challenge for athletes, compelling them to seek out other facilities for practice sessions.

Now, with the rejuvenated synthetic track open for use, athletes can once again train diligently, enhancing their performance potential. The availability of this modern facility is expected to positively impact the athletic community in Pimpri-Chinchwad, providing them with a conducive environment to excel in their respective disciplines. Athletes have expressed their satisfaction and relief at the reopening of the track, heralding a new era of athletic excellence in the region.
