Pune: Temporary Traffic Changes in Yerwada and Koregaon Park for Mahashivratri Celebrations at Tarkeshwar Temple

Pune, 7th March 2024: On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, a significant influx of devotees is anticipated at the Shri Tarkeshwar Temple on March 8, 2024, organized by the Pune City Yerawada Traffic Branch. To ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic in Pune City, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Pune City, Rohidas Pawar, has announced temporary changes to the traffic flow at Parnakuti Chowk. These alterations have been implemented to accommodate the heightened presence of devotees and facilitate a secure and efficient traffic management system in Pune City during this religious event.

Traffic adjustments are in place due to the temporary stoppage of traffic from Koregaon Park Bundgarden. Here are the alternative routes for the affected areas:

1. Vehicles going from Pune to Nagar Road and Airport:
– Take a left turn at Tarkeshwar Chowk.
– Turn right at Shadal Baba Chowk.
– Take a right turn at Dr Ambedkar Chowk to reach Nagar Road and Airport.

2. Traffic going from Sangamwadi to Koregaon Park and Nagar Road:
– Vehicles from Sangamwadi heading towards Nagar Road and Koregaon Park should:
– Go straight from Shadal Baba Chowk to Dr Ambedkar Chowk.
– Continue straight to Nagar Road.
– Turn right from Gunjan Chowk.
– Turn right from Parnakuti Chowk to reach Koregaon Park.

3. Traffic coming from Chandrama Chowk towards Nagar Road and Koregaon Park:
– Vehicles from Chandrama Chowk heading towards Nagar Road and Koregaon Park should:
– Take a left at Chandrama Chowk.
– Proceed to Alandi Junction.
– Go straight to Dr. Ambedkar Chowk.
– Pass through Golf Club Chowk.
– Continue to reach Nagar Road.
– To reach Koregaon Park, turn right at Gunjan Chowk and proceed via Parnakuti Chowk.
