Raigad: Tragic Incident Unfolds In Alibaug As Son Sets Mother Ablaze Following Heated Dispute
Alibaug, 27th October 2023: A harrowing incident has come to light in Sudkoli, Alibaug, where a 27-year-old son, identified as Jayesh Ramdev Khot, allegedly set his mother, Changuna Ramdev Khot, on fire during a violent argument that escalated over a trivial issue.
On a Tuesday night, a disagreement erupted between Jayesh and his mother, stemming from a dispute over food. What began as a verbal quarrel swiftly escalated when Jayesh, in a state of anger, resorted to physically assaulting his mother using a wooden stick.
Suddenly, the altercation turned violent as Jayesh dragged his mother out into the courtyard, where he brandished a knife. Terrified and helpless, Changuna faced the threat of the knife before Jayesh cruelly doused her in flammable material and set her ablaze.
Local law enforcement swiftly responded to the distressing incident after receiving the report. The police detained Jayesh; however, in the meantime, Changuna Khot succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Alibaug Sub-district Hospital. Police are further investigating the case.
