Railway Policeman Shoots ASI and 3 Passengers on Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express
Mumbai, 31st July 2023: A shocking incident unfolded today as a Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawan opened fire inside the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express, resulting in the tragic deaths of four people. The jawan has been apprehended and taken into custody.
At approximately 5:23 AM, reports emerged of gunfire in coach B5 of train number 12956 Jaipur-Mumbai Express. It has been confirmed that Constable Chetan, who was on escort duty, fired shots at Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Tika Ram, the escort in-charge. The train had reached Borivali Railway Station (BVI) at the time of the incident, and it was also reported that three civilians, in addition to ASI Tika Ram, lost their lives.
The authorities have promptly responded to the situation, and Senior Divisional Security Commissioner (Sr DSC) BCT is en route to the location. The constable involved in the shooting has been apprehended. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North Government Railway Police (GRP) has been informed of the incident.
Further investigations are underway to ascertain the motive behind this shooting.
