Sale Of Tenements Seized By Police, Case Against Five People Including Then Assistant Commissioner Of Thane Municipal Corporation 

Thane, 16th October 2022: Four flats in a residential complex in Thane’s Ghantali area were seized by the Economic Offenses Wing four years ago. A case has been registered in Naupada Police Station against the then Assistant Commissioner of Naupada Kopri Ward Committee of Thane Municipal Corporation, the Chairman, the Ex-Chairman of the concerned housing complex, and two others in connection with their mutual sale transaction without the consent of the police.

In 2018, the Thane Economic Crime Branch arrested two accused, Balraj Malik and Sunil Saldhana, after investigating a crime. In this operation, the Economic Offenses Branch confiscated two flats in the Suraj Premises housing complex in Ghantali. Also, accused Sunil Saldhana had also taken possession of two flats taken on lease in the same complex. After this, the redevelopment work of the respective building was started in 2020. Meanwhile, the ex-president of Soyti sold two flats owned by him and protected by the police to each other.
