Thane: Fatal Accident on Mumbai Local Train Claims Life of 25-Year-Old IT Professional

Thane, 26th April 2024: On April 23, 2024, tragedy struck as 25-year-old IT professional Avadhesh Rajesh Dubey met with a fatal accident, falling from an overcrowded local train between Diva and Mumbra stations. Avadhesh, a resident of Thakurwadi in Dombivli, was pursuing a postgraduate degree in IT from IIT Patna through distance learning.

According to the Government Railway Police, Avadhesh likely boarded a fast local train from Dombivli around 8:45 am amidst the morning rush hour, only to meet with the accident between Diva and Mumbra stations.

Upon receiving information from the railway authorities, GRP officials swiftly transported Avadhesh to Thane Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing.

The tragic accident involving Avadhesh Dubey has reignited concerns regarding safety along the Diva-Mumbra bridge. His absence from work at Manorama Infosolutions Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai Central prompted his family, including his elder brothers Deepak and Yogesh Dubey, to launch a desperate search, culminating in the heartbreaking confirmation of Avadhesh’s fate.

Deepak Dubey, elder brother of the deceased and AAP leader, highlighted the recurring tragedies at the Diva-Mumbra bridge, stressing the imperative need for heightened safety measures along this perilous route.
