Thane: Five People Arrested From Vashi For Illicit Narcotics Trade; Seized Drugs Worth Over Rs 63 Thousand

Vashi, 7th August 2023: The Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) police successfully apprehended five individuals, including a woman, involved in the illicit sale of narcotics in Kopri village of Vashi sector-26. Acting on a tip-off received by the authorities, the police conducted targeted raids in the area, leading to the arrests and the seizure of substantial quantities of brown sugar and ganja.
According to the APMC police, the initial operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals identified as Tahir Ali (25), Mohammad Juned Khan (22), Rafiq Shaikh (21), and Nilesh Bhoir (32). The law enforcement team conducted the raid in the lane of Ganesh Thakur Chawl near Gavdevi temple, where they successfully confiscated 21.14 grams of brown sugar with an estimated value of Rs 42 thousand. The suspects are now facing charges related to drug trafficking.
In a subsequent operation, the APMC police arrested another woman, Kavita Rathod (30), who was allegedly involved in selling ganja in the vicinity of Navuchal, near Saibaba temple in Kopari village. During the arrest, the police seized approximately 1,060 grams of ganja, valued at 21,200 rupees.
