Thane: Kolsevadi Police Apprehends Recidivist Accused For Latest Shoplifting Act In Record Time

Mumbra, 21st October 2023: Kolsevadi police successfully apprehend three individuals from the Mumbra area in a shoplifting act within 24 hours. With the help of CCTV footage and technical assistance, Kolsevali police took this action, recovering valuables worth Rs 7 lakh and 50 thousand from them.

On the Saturday morning of October 14, a case was lodged against the accused, Naushad Khan, Musib Khan, and Salman Khan, in Kolsevali Police Station in connection with the theft of batteries worth lakhs of rupees from Star Battery Shop in the Chakki Naka area of Kalyan. Upon being informed about the theft incident, the proprietor of the Star Battery Shop submitted an official complaint to the Kolsewadi Police Station.

Accordingly, senior police inspector Mahendra Deshmukh appointed a special team to apprehend this accused and started looking out for them. Police, with the help of technical surveillance, traced the accused’s location in the Mumbra Dongri area. Subsequently, police laid a trap in the area and shackled these three accused within 24 hours.

In the follow-up investigation after the perpetrator’s apprehension, police seized valuables worth more than 15 lakh rupees from them. According to the information provided by the police, the accused trio are recidivist criminals and have multiple cases of assault and other criminal backgrounds against them in various parts of Mumbai. The police are now delving deeper to investigate other threads in the case.
