Thane Municipal Transport Bus Catches Fire, Prompt Rescue Ensures Passengers’ Safety

Thane, 30th July 2023: A Thane Municipal Transport Department bus caught fire on Sunday due to a technical fault in its engine while en route from Narpoli to Chendani Koliwada. Fortunately, quick action and coordinated efforts led to the safe rescue of around 45 to 50 passengers on board, and no injuries were reported in the incident.

The incident occurred when the bus reached Courtnaka Central Maidan. The alert bus driver promptly stopped the vehicle upon noticing the engine fire, ensuring the safety of all passengers. Sanjay Joshi, a vigilant individual, immediately informed the Disaster Management Cell about the situation.

In response to the emergency, personnel from the disaster management room and the fire brigade swiftly arrived at the scene. With the collective efforts of the bus driver, conductor, local residents, and the disaster management and fire brigade teams, the fire was successfully brought under control within ten minutes of the incident at approximately 8:40 am.

The incident showcases the importance of timely response and coordination in handling emergencies. The Thane Municipal Transport Department and the disaster management teams are commended for their efficient efforts in ensuring the safety of the passengers and effectively tackling the situation.
