Thane: Senior Citizen Beaten To Death By Passenger In Running Local In Kalyan

Kalyan, 3rd March 2023: Between Kalyan and Titwala railway stations on Thursday afternoon, a passenger thrashed a senior citizen in a coach in a running local, killing him on the spot. Kalyan Lohmarg police have arrested a suspect in this case.

The deceased passenger has been identified as Baban Hande Deshmukh (65). He lives in Ambivali. He had come to Kalyan yesterday afternoon for some work. After finishing work, he was going home from Kalyan railway station by Titwala local. The coaches were heavily crowded, which is why Deshmukh got onto the loading coach. While boarding the local, Deshmukh ran into a passenger. He apologized for this. But the passenger was in no mood to listen to him and started beating him up. As the local was running, the passengers in the other coaches did not know what was going on in the freight coach. Deshmukh died on the spot due to a severe beating.

The accused got down from the local before reaching Titwala station and escaped. Police received information that a person died in a goods carriage at Titwala railway station. The Lohmarg police have taken possession of Deshmukh’s body and sent it for post-mortem at Rukminibai Hospital. Police have detained a suspect in this case.
