Thane: Truck Carrying Household Cylinders Overturns Near Kalyan East

Kalyan, 28th July 2023: On Friday morning, a truck carrying household cylinders overturned near Metro Business Complex in Kalyan East, spreading panic in the area and causing a significant traffic jam. The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the truck, resulting in an accident as the truck collided with the divider and overturned. As a consequence, the cylinders spilled onto the road, raising concerns among residents about potential gas leaks and explosions.

As the cylinder hit the road with force, fear spread among the residents that the tank would burst and gas would come out. So none of the residents or drivers came to the area of this truck for rescue work initially.

Ravindra Kshirsagar, Senior Police Inspector of Kolsewadi Traffic Department, was then informed about the incident. He immediately called all the available traffic police officers, personnel, and rescue teams to the location to assess the situation and ensure public safety.

After ensuring that the road cylinders were not dangerous, the police started gathering them on one side of the road. The overturned truck was moved to the side with the help of a crane, and then the traffic was smoothed immediately.
