Thane: Young Woman Killed in Kalyan Home Attack by Five Local Youths; All Accused Arrested

Thane, 6th May 2025: A 19-year-old woman was killed on Monday night in Kalyan’s Indira Nagar area after five local youths entered her home and brutally assaulted her family with wooden sticks and kicks. The attack occurred as the family was having dinner, when one of the accused, Gulam Subhani Shaikh alias Munna, entered the house allegedly intoxicated and demanded money for alcohol from the family’s head, Nisar Syed. After being refused, Munna called his son Abdul Shaikh and three friends, who stormed the house and attacked Nisar, his wife, and their daughter Saniya.

During the violent altercation, Saniya tried to intervene to protect her parents but was struck on the head with a wooden stick, resulting in her immediate death. The police, acting on orders from Deputy Commissioner Atul Zhende, quickly arrested all five accused as they attempted to flee the area. A murder case has been registered at the Mahatma Phule Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
