Tragic Fire Engulfs Sixth Floor Of Santacruz Building: One Dead While Others Hospitalised
Santacruz, 16th August 2023: A devastating fire erupted on the sixth floor of a residential building in Santacruz yesterday afternoon, resulting in the tragic death of a 65-year-old man identified as Nitesh Joshi. One individual is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
The incident unfolded yesterday around 4 p.m. at a seven-story building known as Haripreet Society, located opposite Poddar School in Santacruz West. Promptly responding to the emergency call, the local fire brigade swiftly arrived at the scene to contain the blaze.
Fortunately, the fire was contained within the confines of the sixth floor, preventing its spread throughout the entire building. Heroic efforts by firefighters led to the successful rescue of two individuals from the blaze raging on the sixth floor.
Both injured victims were then quickly transported via ambulance to Cooper Hospital, a nearby medical facility. Unfortunately, Nitesh Joshi, aged 65, was declared deceased upon arrival, according to medical authorities. The cause of his demise is attributed to injuries sustained during the fire. The remaining patient has since been treated at the hospital.
