Unseasonal Rains Lash Mumbai And Thane

Mumbai, 21st March 2023: Unseasonal rains lashed across Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Thane. It is still drizzling in some parts. Even though the Mumbaikars who were shocked due to the extreme heat in March got some relief, the unseasonal weather has made the farmers sleepless.

Rains fell in the Thane district along with Mumbai. It rained heavily in Andheri. Similarly, rain is continuing in the areas of Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, and Dahisar. It is also raining in the suburbs of Diva, Dombivli, Kalyan, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, and Badlapur. Even though the rain has stopped for some time, showers are predicted. Due to unseasonal rains, farmers have suffered a lot.

In Kalyan Dombivli, the unseasonal rain, which started at 5.30 am on Tuesday, made a strong appearance with thunder at 6.30 am.

The untimely rains disturbed the vendors, buyers and drivers who kept vegetables in the open on the premises of the Kalyan Agricultural Produce Market Committee from early in the morning. The vendors had to rush to cover the vegetables, fruits and flowers kept in the open. In the markets where the morning transactions are taking place, the vendors who do regular business by keeping tea and breakfast on the platform had to take care of buildings and shelters. For some time, the newspaper sellers had to face the buildings and be careful not to let the newspaper get wet.

Like Mumbai and Thane, Palghar and Dahanu received unseasonal rain with lightning. There are signs of heavy damage to rabi crops and horticulture due to this rain. Farmers have been in trouble due to unseasonal rains earlier, and yet again, unseasonal rains have lashed the state. Unseasonal rains have also occurred in Buldhana, Parbhani, Satara, Dhule, Wardha, and Amravati districts.

Taloja industrial estate, along with many villages of Panvel taluka, saw heavy rain on Tuesday morning. Due to this rain, the residents got some relief from the heat of the day. It has started raining since seven o’clock in the morning. Similarly, rains have made a strong presence in Navi Mumbai too.
