What Were CISF Personnel Doing When Kirit Somaiya Was Attacked? Mumbai Police Askes DG CISF

Mumbai, 27th April 2022: Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey has written to the Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) requesting him to inquire as to what the CISF personnel deployed for the security of Kirit Somaiya were doing when the BJP leader was attacked. A senior IPS officer of Mumbai Police confirmed that Pandey has written a letter to the CISF DG seeking to know.

MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana were arrested for creating unrest outside Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s Bandra residence, Matoshree, by announcing recitation of Hanuman Chalisa.

Mumbai Police has already arrested four accused, including Shiv Sena leader and former city mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, in connection with the attack on Somaiya, whose car was pelted with stones at Khar police station on Saturday.

Somaiya claimed on Twitter, “I am shocked, 100 Shiv Sena goons pelted stones at me in the presence of 50 policemen in Khar police station premises. They wanted to kill me. What is the police commissioner doing? How many mafia army goons were allowed to gather in the police station?”

“This is the third time that Uddhav Thackeray’s goons have tried to kill me. First in Pune and Washim and now in the police station (Khar Mumbai),” he alleged.
