Mumbai, 17th June 2022: “While carrying on the water scheme work of Aurangabad expeditiously, take care that there is no obstruction and also maintain the good quality of the work”, directed chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
He took the stock of the water supply scheme that was recently added to the chief minister’s Sankalp Kaksh in which ‘Work to do on priority basis’ are included. Mr Thackeray said, ‘I myself will be visiting the site to inspect the ongoing work of Aurangabad water scheme’. He reiterated that the progress of work of water supply scheme should be as per the schedule and directed to send the proposal for changing the old water supply line. He further said that in the next review meeting, the owner of the contract company or its senior representatives should also be present.
Guardian Minister Mr Subhash Desai, who was also present in the meeting, said that a review of the progress of water scheme is being taken regularly. Principal secretary of the chief minister Sitaram Kunte, additional chief secretary of the chief minister Ashish Kumar Singh, principal secretary of the chief minister Vikas Kharge, principal secretary of the forest department Venu Gopal Reddy, principal secretary of the water supply and sanitation department Sanjeev Jaiswal, member secretary of Maharashtra Jivan Pradhikaran Abhishek Krishna, divisional commissioner of Aurangabad division Sunil Kendrekar, district magistrate Sunil Chauhan were also present during the meeting.
Follow up the permission issue with the center
The chief minister said that the union environment ministry has been given a proposal through the forest secretary for Jack well at the Jayakwadi dam and it should get green signal at the earliest. He said, ‘I will talk to the union forest and environment minister in this regard but until permission is granted, the work should not come to a standstill.’
He said that all the works related to water reservoir, pipe coating and the digging of pits should be of good quality and he himself is going to inspect the work. Mr Thackeray said that the plan for water distribution in Aurangabad city should also be given approval by the municipal corporation from time to time and the work should not be delayed under any circumstances.
