Pune: Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis Assures Swift Allocation of Land for Modern Warje Malwadi Police Station

Warje, 10th March 2024: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis have assured that the reserved land at Warje-Malwadi Police Station will be promptly allocated by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Vikram Kumar. During a recent visit to Warje Malwadi, Fadnavis emphasized the need to construct a modern and efficient Police Station in the area.
The occasion also witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony and dedication of a multispeciality hospital, alongside other development projects, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Notable figures present at the event included Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, MP Supriya Sule, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, and other local representatives.
MLA Bhimrao Tapkir highlighted the initiation of Warje Malwadi Police Station in 2011, situated in the Warje Gram Panchayat building. With the subsequent transfer of the village to PMC, the police station has been operating from the same building, necessitating the need for a dedicated and modern facility in the region.
The Warje-Malwadi Police Station, inaugurated in 2011 from the Kothrud police station, currently operates in a 1634-square-foot area. The need for expansion has been addressed, with two acres of land near RMD Sinhagad College reserved for the police station in the PMC development plan.
Efforts were made through the Pune Police Commissioner’s office to acquire the designated land, with the PMC Municipal Commissioner indicating that the payment and possession process was completed in 2022. However, as of now, the land remains unoccupied. The landowner, Maruti Navale, has been identified, and discussions are urged to resolve this situation and facilitate the construction of a modern police station for the area’s law and order.
During the event, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir raised this issue, and Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the matter directly. Fadnavis called upon PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar, present at the event, to expedite the transfer of the reserved land for the construction of a modern and efficient police station. Emphasizing the importance of this development for maintaining law and order in the area, Fadnavis prioritized the issue and directed the immediate construction of the new police station building. This initiative is expected to enhance peace and security in the Warje-Malwadi region.
