Pune: Notorious Criminal Arrested in Hadapsar Murder Case Granted Bail by Bombay High Court

Hadapsar, 11th March 2024: An experienced criminal, Amol Baban Rajput, who was arrested in connection with a murder case in the Hadapsar area, has been released from jail after three years, following a bail granted by Bombay High Court Justice Madhav Jamadar. The bail application was submitted by his legal representatives, Adv Niranjan Bhavke, Adv Praneet Namde, and Adv Ajit Pawar.

Amol Baban Rajput was apprehended by Hadapsar police on November 7, 2020, and subsequently sought bail from the Bombay High Court. Notably, the accused has a criminal history with a total of 21 prior cases registered against him, and he had been externed for 2 years. The police had also seized blood-stained clothes from him, and the government prosecutors presented evidence, including CCTV footage, linking him to the crime.

In response, the defence team, comprising Adv Niranjan Bhavke, Adv Praneet Namde, and Adv Ajit Pawar, argued that the CCTV footage merely depicted chaos and did not indicate any clear intent on the part of the accused to cause harm to the deceased. They pointed out that the accused had been acquitted in some of his previous cases and had been granted bail in others. Consequently, they sought bail for him in the current crime. The court, considering the arguments, granted bail to the accused, requiring a payment of Rs. 25,000.
