Central Railway Seizes Rs 6 Lakh Banned Tobacco Consignment at LTT

Mumbai, 14th August 2025: Central Railway’s Vigilance Team has seized a consignment of banned tobacco products worth ₹6 lakh at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) during a targeted inspection on 13 August 2025.
Acting on a tip-off and after sustained surveillance, the Vigilance Team, along with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, intercepted parcel consignments arriving by Train No. 11056 Gonda–LTT Godan Express.
Officials said the team arrived at LTT before the train’s arrival and identified a consignment booked from Gonda to LTT. The parcel, comprising 10 packages weighing 564 kg, was opened in the presence of the Chief Parcel Supervisor and RPF witnesses. Items recovered included flavoured chewing tobacco, flavoured pan masala, and other banned tobacco products.
The seized goods were handed over to the RPF for further action.
