Mumbai: CSMT-Nanded Vande Bharat Express to Begin Service from August 27

Exciting Times Ahead: Vande Bharat Express to Revolutionize Mumbai-Goa Rail Travel In 7 Hours

Mumbai, 25 August 2025: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will flag off the inaugural Hazur Sahib Nanded–CSMT Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 02705) through video conferencing on August 26. The inaugural run will start from Hazur Sahib Nanded at 11:20 hrs and reach CSMT at 21:55 hrs the same day, with halts at Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad, Nashik Road, Kalyan, Thane, and Dadar.

From August 27, the existing 20706 CSMT-Jalna Vande Bharat Express will be extended up to Hazur Sahib Nanded. Similarly, from August 28, the 20705 Jalna–CSMT Vande Bharat Express will begin operations from Nanded.

Arrival: 14:25 hrs at CSMT

Halts include Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Manmad, Aurangabad, Jalna, and Parbhani.

Travel Time and Capacity

The train will cover the 610 km distance between Nanded and Mumbai in 9 hours 25 minutes, reducing the travel time by nearly 2 hours compared to the Devgiri Express. It will operate with 20 coaches—2 Executive Chair Cars and 18 Chair Cars with a seating capacity of 1,440.

Regional Connectivity

The service will provide direct semi-high-speed connectivity between Nanded, Parbhani, and Mumbai, while also linking major religious and tourist destinations including Shirdi, Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga, Ajanta and Ellora caves, and Hazur Sahib Gurudwara.
