Western Railway Launches Udhna-Malda Town and Vadodara-Kolkata Special Trains for Festival Season

Mumbai, 28 August 2025: Western Railway will operate two pairs of special trains during the upcoming festive season of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja to meet increased travel demand between Malda Town-Vadodara and Kolkata stations.

Booking for both special train services will commence on August 30, 2025 at all Passenger Reservation System counters and on the IRCTC website.

The Udhna-Malda Town Weekly Special will run 14 trips between September 29 and November 10, 2025. Train 03418 will depart from Udhna every Monday at 12:30 hrs, reaching Malda Town at 02:55 hrs on Wednesday. The return service, Train 03417, will depart from Malda Town every Saturday at 12:20 hrs, arriving in Udhna at 00:45 hrs on Monday.

The second service, Vadodara-Kolkata Weekly Special, will operate 18 trips from October 3 to November 30, 2025. Train 03110 will leave Vadodara every Thursday at 16:45 hrs, reaching Kolkata at 04:05 hrs on Saturday. Train 03109 will depart from Kolkata every Tuesday at 08:00 hrs, arriving in Vadodara at 19:45 hrs the following day.

Both trains will make multiple halts across key stations. The Udhna-Malda Town service will stop at Chalthan, Vyara, Navapur, Nandurbar, Dondaicha, Amalner, Bhusawal, Jurat, Pipariya, Madan Mahal, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj, Ghazipur, Dayal Upadhyaya, Sasaram, Gaya, Tilaiya, Nawadah, Sheikhpura, Kiul, Abhaipur, Jamalpur, Sultanganj, Bhagipur, Kahalgaon, Sahitganj, Barharwa and New Farakka stations.

The Vadodara-Kolkata service will halt at Godhra, Ratlam, Kota, Gangapur City, Idgah Agra, Tundla, Govindpuri, Prayagraj, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Sasaram, Gaya, Tilaiya, Nawadah, Sheikhpura, Kiul, Jhajha, Jasidih, Madhupur, Chittaranjan, Asansol, Durgapur and New Farakka stations.

The Udhna-Malda Town special comprises Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches, while the Vadodara-Kolkata service includes AC-3 Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class accommodation.
