Mumbai: 15-Year-Old Dies, Three Injured in Massive Fire at Cuffe Parade Chawl
Cuffe Parade, 20th October 2025: A massive fire broke out in a chawl at Machhimar Nagar, Cuffe Parade, on Monday morning, claiming the life of a 15-year-old boy and leaving three others injured. The blaze created panic among residents as smoke and flames spread rapidly, forcing people to flee for safety.
According to reports, the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit or an EV battery. Fire brigade teams reached the scene immediately after receiving the alert and managed to bring the fire under control within an hour.
The three injured individuals were rushed to nearby hospitals, where doctors began treatment. The incident, which occurred during the Diwali festivities, caused significant damage to several homes, leaving many residents distressed.
The police have registered a report and are investigating the cause of the fire. Residents of Machhimar Nagar expressed shock over the tragedy and urged authorities to implement better safety measures in crowded chawl areas to prevent such incidents in the future.
