Maharashtra Farm Loan Waiver Beneficiary List Likely Today

Mumbai, 22nd July 2026: The Maharashtra government is expected to release the first list of beneficiaries under the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme on Wednesday, marking a significant step in the implementation of its farm debt relief programme.

The government has announced a crop loan waiver of up to ₹2 lakh for eligible farmers. During the recent monsoon session of the state legislature, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that nearly 56 lakh farmers would benefit from the scheme, with an estimated financial outlay of ₹37,000 crore. The government has also earmarked ₹20,000 crore through supplementary budgetary provisions for the initiative.

Officials said the beneficiary list is being finalised only after a comprehensive verification of data received from banks and cross-checking with Income Tax records. The stricter scrutiny follows the identification of ineligible beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, prompting the government to tighten the selection process for the loan waiver scheme.

According to sources, the administration is aiming to release the first beneficiary list on July 22, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and the birthday of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The implementation of the scheme has been delayed despite earlier announcements that it would be rolled out by June 30, later revised to July 5. The government attributed the delay to the extensive verification process being carried out by MahaIT and the Cooperation Department to ensure that only eligible farmers receive the benefit.

Once the provisional list is published, farmers will be required to verify their individual loan details through their respective banks’ computerized systems. After this verification is completed, the final list of eligible beneficiaries will be released, and the loan waiver process is expected to begin by the end of July.

The state government expects the scheme to provide substantial financial relief to lakhs of farmers burdened by crop loans while ensuring transparency and accuracy in beneficiary selection.
