Mumbai: 16-Year-Old Boy Travels 900 Km From Madhya Pradesh To Mumbai To Pursue Acting Dream, Found At Film City
Mumbai, 8th August 2026: A 16-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh, who had been reported missing by his family, travelled nearly 900 km to Mumbai in pursuit of his dream of becoming an actor. The teenager was found wandering unattended near Film City in Goregaon and was safely taken into police custody.
According to police, the boy is a student from Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh. He allegedly left his home on Thursday afternoon on the pretext of going to school. Instead, he boarded a train from Chhindwara Railway Station to Nagpur and then took a connecting train to Mumbai.
The teenager arrived at Goregaon Railway Station the following morning and then walked towards Film City, where he was later found by the police.
A mobile police unit reached Film City after receiving information about the unattended minor and brought him to Aarey Police Station for inquiry.
During questioning, the boy reportedly told police that he had travelled to Mumbai hoping to get an acting opportunity in the popular television serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC).
Police subsequently contacted the boy’s father, who confirmed that his son had gone missing from home on Thursday. The teenager is currently safe at Aarey Police Station, while his father is travelling to Mumbai to bring him back home.
The incident highlights the risks minors can face when travelling alone over long distances while pursuing opportunities in the entertainment industry.
