Mumbai Local: Woman Falls From Train Near Diva-Mumbra Curve; Passenger Safety Concerns Rise Amid Heavy Crowding
Mumbai, 11th September 2026: A woman fell from a suburban local train near the Diva-Mumbra curve on Thursday morning, highlighting once again the safety concerns faced by passengers travelling during peak hours.
According to the information available, the incident took place at around 7:56 am when a Dombivli-bound local train was travelling from Diva towards Mumbra. The train had stopped briefly at a signal near the Diva-Mumbra curve. At the time, the area near the train doors was reportedly crowded with passengers.
Amid the heavy rush, the woman standing near the doorway reportedly lost her balance and fell from the train. She landed in a drain alongside the railway tracks and became stuck there.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the incident. The woman reportedly sustained minor injuries and was said to be in a stable condition.
The incident has once again raised concerns over passenger safety amid overcrowding on Mumbai’s suburban railway network, particularly during peak morning hours.
Travelling while standing at the doorway or hanging onto the train can be extremely dangerous. The incident highlights the need for passengers to exercise caution and for railway authorities to take appropriate measures to improve passenger safety during peak hours.
