Actor Govinda Injured After Accidental Gun Discharge at Mumbai Home, Currently Stable in Hospital
Mumbai, 1st October 2024: Actor Govinda sustained an injury when he allegedly accidentally discharged his gun at his Mumbai home early on Tuesday. He has been hospitalized and is currently out of danger, according to Mumbai police.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Govinda was preparing to leave for some work around 5 a.m. when the trigger of his licensed gun was accidentally pressed as he was placing it in the cupboard. The gun discharged, and a bullet struck his leg, a police source reported.
The injured actor was admitted to Criti Care Hospital nearby for treatment. No complaint has been filed, and the actor remains in the hospital, undergoing treatment, police stated.
Mumbai police have launched an investigation and seized Govinda’s firearm. Officials from the Crime Branch are also involved in the investigation, they added.
Police plan to take the actor’s statement once he is in better condition, as well as statements from others present at the time of the incident. The actor’s wife was reportedly in Kolkata.
