Body Of One Child Found Today After Five Children Went Missing In Seawater At Marve Beach, Malad

Mumbai, 17th July 2023: A fun holiday at Marve Beach turned into a heartbreaking tragedy yesterday morning when five children drowned in the sea. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on July 16, sending shockwaves through the holidaygoers who had gathered at the beach to enjoy the holiday.

On holidays, and especially in the monsoon season, a large number of people come up to the beach to relax and spend some time with their families and friends. Likewise, four to five children went on the Marve beach yesterday to enjoy their holiday and have fun. However, their overzealousness proved disastrous for them, as all of them went missing in the sea after they entered the sea water.

Yesterday, these children went approximately half a kilometre into the sea to enjoy it. As they misunderstood the depth of the water, they started drowning. Looking some panic over there, nearby beachgoers immediately rushed to their aid.

They successfully managed to pull two of the children to safety. Identified as Kurshana Harijan (16) and Ankush Shivre (13), both were fortunately rescued from drowning. However, tragically, three other children couldn’t be traced and were reported missing after the incident. The missing children are identified as Shubham Jaiswal (12), Nikhil Kayamukur (13), and Ajay Harijan.

Immediately, police guards and coastguard security personnel carried out a search operation to find the missing children. This morning at 7 a.m., the body of Nikhil Kayamukur was discovered in the sea water. Consequently, the body was taken into the Shatabdi hospital for a postmortem. Meanwhile, the search for the other two children continues.
