Desperate Search Concludes: Body of Missing Toddler Discovered in Thane Water Tank
Bhiwandi, 29th January 2024: The lifeless body of a four-year-old boy, Vikinyash Chavan, was discovered in a water tank in the Quarter Gate area of Bhiwandi, Thane. The child had been missing since Friday afternoon, and concerns deepened as his absence extended.
Vikinyash Chavan resided with his family in a chawl in the Quarter Gate area of Bhiwandi. On Friday afternoon, he was out with his grandmother when, at some distance, they became separated. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t locate Vikinyash. Subsequently, a missing person complaint was lodged at the Bhiwandi city police station, triggering a search operation led by police teams under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Navnath Dhavale.
As part of the investigation, authorities examined CCTV footage from the area and sought information from the public, yet the child remained elusive. The tragic conclusion came on Sunday afternoon when Vikinyash’s lifeless body was found floating in a water tank within the chawl.
Preliminary investigations indicate no visible injury marks on the boy’s body, leading the police to speculate that he may have approached the water tank and drowned.
