Four More Arrested in Navi Mumbai Drug Trafficking Case; Shocking Details Emerge

Navi Mumbai, 16th May 2025: In a major breakthrough, the Navi Mumbai Police’s special team arrested four more youths over the last five days from Ulwe, Kalamboli, and Nerul in connection with a growing drug trafficking case. This takes the total number of accused arrested so far to 14, while the two main suspects remain absconding abroad.
According to Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Nigde of the Anti-Narcotics Squad, the arrested individuals were procuring drugs from large-scale suppliers and distributing them among local youth. A substantial quantity of drugs was seized, although the exact amount has not been disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.
The case has sent shockwaves through Navi Mumbai due to suspected links between drug smugglers, certain police personnel, and a superintendent from the customs department. Among the accused is K.K., a momos vendor from Kharghar, whose involvement in the drug trade has exposed a web of deceit and criminality.
K.K., previously arrested by Gujarat Police, had faked his own death to claim an insurance payout of ₹32 lakh. He secured a fake death certificate from a doctor at Siddhi Clinic in Gujarat and a cremation receipt from Ramnath Ghela Crematorium in Umra. Using these forged documents, a false death report was registered with the Surat Municipal Corporation, allowing him to obtain the insurance amount in his son’s name. When the fraud came to light, Gujarat Police registered a case in April 2021 and arrested K.K. and his son.
The recent Navi Mumbai investigation found four Aadhaar cards under different names in K.K.’s possession, one of which was used to illegally receive drug parcels from customs. Police constable Sachin Bhalerao has also come under scrutiny for his regular contact with K.K.
The probe continues as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the trafficking network.
