MNS Workers Stage ‘Moonwalk’ Protest in PPE Kits Over Pothole-Ridden Ambernath Flyover
Ambernath, 7th August 2026: In a unique protest highlighting the poor condition of roads, workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staged a “moonwalk” demonstration while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits on the main flyover connecting the eastern and western parts of Ambernath.
The protest was aimed at drawing attention towards the deteriorating condition of the flyover, which has incurred several large potholes following heavy monsoon rains. The unusual demonstration saw MNS workers carefully navigating the damaged stretch in PPE kits, symbolically portraying the hazardous conditions faced by commuters every day.
According to the protesters, the flyover serves as the only direct link between the eastern and western parts of Ambernath, making it a crucial route for thousands of daily commuters. They alleged that the pothole-ridden road has resulted in frequent traffic congestion, vehicle damage, and increased safety risks, especially during the monsoon.
The MNS demanded that the concerned civic authorities immediately repair the damaged stretch and ensure the flyover is made safe for motorists and pedestrians. The party also warned that if prompt action is not taken, it will intensify its agitation.
The protest attracted the attention of commuters and passersby, with many expressing frustration over the condition of the road and supporting the demand for immediate repairs.
