Mumbai: BMC Announces Pipeline Replacement Work in Kandivali, Borivali on May 3

Mumbai, 27th April 2024: In Mumbai, the BMC has scheduled pipeline replacement work from Mithi Chowki Junction to Mahavir Nagar Junction to commence at 10 pm on May 2. The project is anticipated to be completed within 24 hours, necessitating the emptying of the pipeline during this period. Consequently, certain areas of Kandivali and Borivali will experience a temporary suspension of water supply on May 3.

The initiative involves replacing an aging 1200 mm pipeline with a new one in Mahavir Nagar, aiming to address leaks and enhance water pressure in Kandivali West. Pipeline replacement activities are scheduled to take place from 10 pm on May 2 until 10 pm on May 3. Consequently, water supply will be interrupted on May 3 in specific areas during the following timeframes:

– Areas with water supply timings between 1.30 am to 2.55 am in Jan Kalyan Nagar, Chatrapati Shivaji Raje Complex, and MHADA Colony.
– Areas with water supply timings between 3.40 am to 5.50 am, including Lalji Pada, K.D. Compound, Gandhi Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Bunder Pakhadi, Bhabrekar Nagar, MHADA Ekta Nagar, Mahavir Nagar, Irani Wadi, Kandivali Gaothan, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Shankar Gully, Mathurdas Marg, Shantilal Modi Marg, and Swami Vivekanand Marg.
– Charkop MHADA sectors 1 to 9 will experience a water supply suspension between 11.45 am to 2.05 pm.

Additionally, areas such as Poisar, Mahavir Nagar, Indira Nagar, Borsa Pada Marg, SV Road, Shimpoli, Satya Nagar, Vazira Naka, Jairaj Nagar, Eksar, Sodawala Gully, Yogi Nagar, and Poisar will face water supply disruptions on May 3, according to their respective supply timings.

The BMC urges residents to filter and boil water before consumption for the subsequent 4 to 5 days following the restoration of water supply.
