The cleanliness campaign is a part of the Deep Cleanliness Campaign initiated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), focusing on cleaning temple premises and their surroundings. Chief Minister Shinde emphasized the importance of temple cleaning, stating that it contributes not only to the cleanliness of the immediate area but also to the overall improvement of public sanitation.

The temple cleaning drive took place in various locations in the Kurla area of L Division, Mumbai, with Chief Minister Shinde joining the efforts at Shri Ganesh Mandir in Shivshristi locality, Kurla (Nehru Nagar). The initiative garnered support from MP Rahul Shewale, MLA Mangesh Kudalkar, former MLA Tukaram Kate, and other officials.

The active participation of local citizens, including women, children, and school students, showcased a spontaneous response to the cleanliness initiative. Chief Minister Shinde also visited the Siddheshwar Art, Service, and Cultural Circle in Balasaheb Thackeray Nagar, where residents, women, and youth actively contributed to the cleanliness drive.
