Mumbai: Youth Drowned In Well, Four Friends Arrested For Culpable Homicide

Mumbai, 25th September 2022: An 18-year-old boy drowned in a well in Vikhroli and the police have now arrested four of his friends for culpable homicide after the incident came to light 2 months later. The deceased boy has been identified as Antarish Jadhav and he was a resident of Mukundarao Ambedkar Nagar in Vikhroli East. Even though his friend could not swim, the accused boys took Antarish swimming and when he drowned, they returned home without giving any information about the incident. After the boy went missing, his body was found in the well. This incident took place on 12th July. After that, the police registered a case of culpable homicide on Friday and arrested four friends of Antarish. Even after Antarish went missing, the family had called his friends, but they did not give any information about Antarish 2 months ago.

On 12th July, Antarish’s four friends visited his home and they asked him to come along. After Antarish refused twice, he agreed to go with them. After Antarish left at 12:30 in the afternoon, he did not return. After that, when the family searched for Antarish, his clothes were found near the well there. Also, his sandal was floating in the water. With the help of the fire brigade, he was pulled out after searching the water. He was taken to Rajawadi Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Even when Antarish went missing, the family called friends. But he did not give information about Antarish. Finally, after this incident, the Vikhroli police registered a case of culpable homicide against four friends and arrested him.
