Thane: Man Celebrates Birthday At Cremation Ground To Eradicate Superstitions

Thane, 24th November 2022: A man from Kalyan town of Thane in Maharashtra celebrated his birthday at the cremation ground to give a message against superstitions prevailing in the society. Gautam Ratan More turned 54 on 19 November. Ratan gave a birthday party on Saturday night at Mohne cremation ground. More than 100 people attended it. During this, apart from cake, biryani was also served to the guests.

 

A video of the birthday celebration with cake cutting went viral on the internet on Wednesday. More said he got the inspiration for the event from social activist Sindhutai Sapkal and rationalist late Narendra Dabholkar, who campaigned against superstition and black magic.

 

More said that he also wanted to give a message to the people that ghosts do not exist in cremation grounds and other such places. He said that more than 100 guests, including 40 women and children, attended his birthday party.
