Thane News: Minor Landslide Reported On Ghodbunder Road, No Injuries
Thane, 18th August 2026: A minor landslide occurred on Ghodbunder Road near the Lodha Splendora residential complex in Thane’s Bhayandarpada area on Monday evening, 17th August.
The incident was reported to emergency control officials at around 8:40 pm. No injuries or casualties were reported.
Following the alert, teams from the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC), Thane Fire Brigade, Public Works Department (PWD) and Thane Municipal Corporation reached the spot.
An earthmover was deployed to clear soil and boulders that had accumulated on the carriageway. The debris was cleared and traffic movement was subsequently restored.
As a precautionary measure, the affected stretch was cordoned off with danger tape to prevent commuters from approaching the area.
The incident comes amid the ongoing monsoon season, when heavy rainfall has frequently affected roads and traffic movement across Thane. Ghodbunder Road, a key route connecting Thane with the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway and surrounding areas, has also witnessed waterlogging and traffic disruptions during periods of heavy rain.
