101 Parayan Offered By Devotees On Gajanan Maharaj Prakat Din at ‘Gajanan Vatika, Pune’

Pune, 9th March 2024: Gajanan Maharaj, a revered saint, made his first appearance in Shegaon, a village in Buldhana district, Maharashtra. The date of first appearance is celebrated as Prakat Din, marking an auspicious occasion. The 146th Gajanan Maharaj Prakat Din was recently observed with fervor and devotion by devotees across Maharashtra and beyond. Various programs were organized to commemorate this day.

Shegaon, the birthplace of saint Sri Gajanan Maharaj, is regarded as the manifestation of the third form of Sri Dattaguru. It is believed that Gajanan Maharaj first appeared in Shegaon during February 1878, when he was in his twenties. Throughout his lifetime, Gajanan Maharaj was believed to have performed numerous miracles, extending help to the needy and unfortunate. His miracles also served to humble the arrogant and egotistic individuals, dispelling their misconceptions.

In Pune, Tushar Acharya and Sonali Acharya, founders of the ‘Ganadhish Avirat Seva And Samvardhan Foundation,’ orchestrated a special celebration for the devotees of Gajanan Maharaj. They organized a special Darshan for all devotees at ‘Gajanan Vatika’ in Baner, Pune on the occasion of Gajanan Maharaj Prakat Din 2024, last Sunday. Alongside the darshan and Mahaprasad for devotees, they organised 101-Parayan. Parayan means offering the prayer by ready chapters of a holy book. Here, 101 devotees offered Parayan by reading all chapters of the holy book, Gajanan Pothi. Devotees from Pune and its vicinity wholeheartedly participated in this spiritual program.

Sonali Acharya, while speaking to Punekar News, expressed gratitude towards the devotees, emphasizing the significance of Gajanan Maharaj’s blessings to their family. She said, “The Acharya Family holds deep devotion for Gajanan Maharaj. His blessings hold immense value for us. We are thankful to all the devotees who visited us today and participated in the Gajanan Maharaj Parayan and Darshan.”

Some of the known names of the devotees who visited ‘Gajanan Vatika’ on this ocassion were MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, Sudheer Daftardar, Director of Poona Security; Anil Dwivedi, Director of Ansec; Anil Dandekar; Nilesh Sahasrabuddhe, and Sunil Jadhav.
