24-Year-Old Man Murdered in Thane After Allegations of Blackmailing Woman
Mumbai, 5th October 2024: A 24-year-old man from Kopri, Thane, was murdered on Friday following allegations that he attempted to blackmail a 20-year-old woman he had met at a wedding earlier this year.
According to police reports, the woman met Satesh Paranjpe at a wedding on April 28. It is alleged that he drugged her, took her to his home, and took nude photographs of her without consent. Subsequently, he began to blackmail her, threatening to distribute the images unless she complied with his demands.
The woman confided in her friend, 24-year-old Mayuresh Nandkumar Dhumal from Jambhli Naka. On Friday, the two friends confronted Paranjpe, demanding that he delete the photos. An argument ensued, which quickly turned violent.
Dhumal reportedly struck Paranjpe on the head with an axe, resulting in his death. The Thane City Police have since registered a case and taken both the woman and Dhumal into custody.
