45 Years Of Tradition: Rangoli Exhibition In Panvel By Artists

Panvel, 28th October 2022: Keeping the tradition of 45 years, the artists of Panvel came together this year also on Diwali. A rangoli exhibition has been organized on high school premises. Rangdeep Creation will be able to see these rangoli Panvelkars from 26th October to 6th November for Panvelkars this year. These rangolis have been drawn with the participation of 19 different artists from Panvel. This rangoli exhibition was inaugurated by Shekap leader, and former opposition leader of Panvel Municipality, Pritam Mhatre.

45 years ago, painting teachers Nand Kumar Gogte and N. worked to convey the colours of Diwali through Rangoli to Panvelkar’s heart. K. Anavkar Guruji started it. This practice is currently being continued by the third generation of Panvelchi painters. Painters from Panvel have also been added to this. This year’s special attraction is the underwater nature rangoli and the peacock rangoli with 3D effects. Also, in various 23 rangolis, Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, former President Abdul Kalam, and others, the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, shades of farmers’ suicide, women oppression, poverty, child labour in India have been displayed in various colours.

Also, commemorating the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, the shades of the Mahatmas who made it independent will be seen here. Pictures drawn by some children along with senior artists have been presented in the exhibition. Mhatre, the leader of Shekap, has appealed to Panvelkar to visit this rangoli exhibition to encourage the artists. Rangdeep Creations President Prakash Nawale, Vice President Manoj Bhop, along with Gogte, are the main guides to Rangdeep’s artists even today. These exhibitions are open from 10 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 9:30 pm.
