Teenager Fatally Assaulted During HSC Exams, Navi Mumbai Police File Murder Charges

Navi Mumbai, 14th March 2024: In an incident in Turbhe village, Navi Mumbai, a 17-year-old college student lost his life after being brutally assaulted by a group of 10-15 boys on Wednesday. The attack, allegedly stemming from previous enmity, occurred while the victim was in the midst of his HSC board exams, according to police reports.
Ajay Shinde, senior inspector of APMC Police Station, stated that the confrontation unfolded around 12:30 pm outside a school, where the teenager was with his friends. The assailants unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks on the victim, resulting in fatal injuries. One of his friends, also a minor, sustained injuries during the altercation.
In response to the heinous act, the police have filed charges of murder and rioting against the perpetrators. While some of the assailants have been identified, those who are minors will not be immediately arrested. Instead, they will be detained and presented before the child welfare committee for legal proceedings. They will appear before the juvenile court for further custody arrangements, as per legal protocols.
