Pune Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Siya Goyal, Boyfriend Explored Tiger Point, Poisoning Before Finalising Lohagad, Say Police
Pune, 21st July 2026: Before allegedly deciding on Lohagad Fort as the site to kill Ketan Agarwal, his fiancée Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary explored several other locations, including Tiger Point and Visapur Fort near Lonavala, besides researching alternative methods such as poisoning and even hiring a contract killer, Pune Rural police said.
Investigators said the couple spent weeks weighing different options before finalising Lohagad sometime before May 31. They allegedly exchanged photographs of the fort after settling on the location and had earlier surveyed other isolated spots in the Lonavala region.
Police also claimed the duo searched online for methods to kill Ketan, looked into the possibility of poisoning him and discussed arranging a contract killer to injure him. They allegedly studied ways to avoid detection and watched films based on murder conspiracies as part of their planning.
According to investigators, Siya made multiple trips to Lohagad with Ketan before the incident, including on May 31 and June 14, to familiarise herself with the terrain. She had also tried to persuade him to visit the fort on June 4, but the trip was cancelled after his family objected.
Police further alleged that Siya and Chetan rehearsed the crime near a club lounge in Pune’s Lulla Nagar and that Siya had earlier attempted to sabotage her marriage to Ketan by stealing his passport before a planned pre-wedding trip to Bali and later disposing of it at a food mall on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.
Siya and Ketan got engaged on February 19 and were scheduled to marry later this year. Police claim Siya had been in a relationship with Chetan since October last year and did not want to proceed with the marriage.
Siya and Chetan were arrested on June 23. Investigators allege Ketan’s death, initially believed to be an accident, was the result of a meticulously planned murder.
