Drunk Youth Arrested for Attacking Police Officer in Kalyan, CCTV Footage Goes Viral

Kalyan, 27th July 2026: A police constable was allegedly attacked with a stick by an intoxicated youth in Kalyan West’s Gauripada area after responding to a distress call from local residents. The accused has been arrested, and the incident, captured on CCTV, has gone viral on social media.

According to police, the accused, identified as Rahul Tayde, was creating a ruckus outside residential houses in the Gauripada locality while allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Disturbed by his behaviour and loud shouting, residents informed the police control room.

Acting on the complaint, Police Constable Ganesh Chavan of Khadakpada Police Station rushed to the spot. While attempting to calm the accused and bring the situation under control, Tayde allegedly became aggressive, argued with the officer, and attacked him with a wooden stick.

Despite the assault, police managed to overpower the accused. A case has been registered against Rahul Tayde at Khadakpada Police Station, and he has been taken into custody.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. The footage has since surfaced on social media, drawing widespread attention and raising concerns over attacks on police personnel while they are performing their duties.

Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
