Central Railway Clinches Overall Championship at 91st All India Railway Athletics Meet
Mumbai, 15th September 2026: Central Railway’s Men’s and Women’s teams jointly won the Overall Team Championship at the 91st All India Railway Athletic Championship held at the Salt Lake Sports Authority of India (SAI) Ground in Kolkata from September 11 to 13.
The achievement marks the first Overall Team Championship title in Central Railway’s history, with the combined performance of its men’s and women’s athletes securing the top position in the championship.
Central Railway’s Men’s Team also won the Team Championship in the men’s category, adding another major title to the railway’s performance at the three-day athletics meet.
The championship brought together athletes from across the Indian Railways, with Central Railway recording strong performances across the events. The combined results of its Men’s and Women’s teams placed Central Railway at the top of the overall team standings.
The achievement was credited to the efforts of the athletes, coaches, support staff and officials associated with Central Railway’s Sports Department.
