Thane: MNS Student Wing Raises Concerns Over Thakur College Student’s Examination Case

Thane, 25th August 2026: A controversy has emerged at Thakur College following allegations that a student was subjected to mental pressure after a smartwatch was found under her examination bench. The student’s mother has alleged that her daughter had no connection with the smartwatch, yet teachers allegedly threatened her with failing the examination and withholding her marks.

According to the student’s family, the incident occurred while the girl was appearing for an examination at the college. The discovery of the smartwatch reportedly led to questions being raised about the student’s involvement. However, the family maintains that the device did not belong to her and that she had no association with it.

The student’s mother alleged that instead of properly verifying the circumstances, the student was subjected to repeated questioning and mental pressure. She further claimed that the student was threatened with serious academic consequences, including the possibility of being declared unsuccessful in the examination and not receiving marks.

After receiving information about the matter, Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNS Student Wing) secretary Sonali Shivaji Patil, accompanied by her colleagues, reached the college to seek clarification from the administration and raise the student’s concerns.

The delegation attempted to meet the college principal. However, according to the MNS Student Wing, they were stopped at the main entrance by a person who was not wearing a security guard’s uniform. The organisation has raised questions over the manner in which its representatives were allegedly prevented from entering the premises.

As the principal was not present at the time, the concerned college staff listened to the student’s side of the matter. The college representatives reportedly assured the delegation that a meeting with the principal would be held within two days to discuss the issue and address the student’s concerns.

The incident has prompted the MNS Student Wing to demand that the matter be examined fairly and that the student should not face any academic or disciplinary action without proper verification of the facts.

The organisation has taken a strong stand against what it described as the use of mental pressure on students. “Students being subjected to mental pressure and their academic future being put at risk will not be tolerated,” the MNS Student Wing said.

The student and her family are now awaiting the proposed meeting with the principal, where they are expected to seek clarification regarding the smartwatch incident, the alleged threats concerning marks and any action that may be taken against the student.
