Mumbai: Another Metro Train To Be Added To Metro 3 Route

Mumbai, 23rd February 2023: Another metro train for the Colaba-Bandre-Sipaz Metro 3 route will be added within a month. The remaining six trains will soon be brought in a phased manner.

The Metro 3 line, which is important in the metro project, is being constructed through the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC). 100 per cent tunnelling of this 33.5 km route has been completed, and the work of the first phase from Aarey to BKC is going on at full speed. This first phase is planned to start in December 2023. MMRC has accelerated the work.

On the other hand, the work of rolling stock has also been started rapidly. As part of that, work has been started to bring the cars to Mumbai as soon as possible and test them. Earlier, two metro trains entered Mumbai from Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. These cars are being tested in a temporary car shed at Sariput Nagar. A senior officer of MMRC informed that the third train will arrive within a month. Meanwhile, nine trains are needed for the first phase of this route. Accordingly, two trains have arrived, and now, the third train will arrive in March. He also said that the remaining six trains will be brought in phases in the next few months.
