Navi Mumbai: Widespread Power Outage Plagues Kalamboli As Electricity Repairs Fall Short Amidst Heavy Rainfall

Kalamboli, 27th July 2023: Residents of Kalamboli were left in the dark when a power outage struck the city on Tuesday morning and persisted overnight. With the electricity supply finally restored at 6:50 a.m. the next day, over 25 thousand electricity consumers in the city had endured nearly 18 hours without power, raising serious questions about the progress of repair work in the city.

The city’s Electricity Authority had taken measures before the monsoon season to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the monsoon period. Repair work was scheduled every Tuesday for this work. However, recent events have left citizens in a state of anguish as power supply issues continue to plague the city.

According to the officials of Mahavitaran, the trouble began after the repair work on the power line was carried out from the morning until the afternoon. At around three in the afternoon, the 22 KV power line from Taloja substation failed unexpectedly. Later that night, another breakdown occurred near the Foodland Company’s RMV, further exacerbating the situation.

The electricity department assured affected customers that the faults would be promptly fixed within a few hours. However, the repair work stretched through the night and was only completed at 5:57 a.m. the next day. The ongoing woes regarding power supply in the city have sparked discontent among citizens, who are now questioning the Electricity Authority about the progress of repair work in the city.
