Mumbai: Congress MLA Receives Death Threat; Investigation Underway
Malad, 9th October 2023: In a shocking incident, the Congress leader from the state and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Malad West Constituency, Aslam Sheikh, received death threats over a phone call on Thursday. In this case, the personal assistant of Aslam Sheikh registered a formal complaint at the Bangur Nagar Police Station.
Vikram Kapoor, the personal assistant and lawyer of Aslam Sheikh, complained that on October 5, a call from an unknown number came on Sheikh’s mobile. After picking up the call, the caller identified himself as gangster Goldie Brar and threatened to kill Aslam Sheikh within two days. The caller said, “I’m talking Goldie Brar. I will shoot Aslam Sheikh in two days. Tell this to Aslam Sheikh.”
As soon as this call came, Kapoor immediately rushed to the police and filed a complaint. He has also given the phone details to the police. Accordingly, the police have registered a case under sections 506(2) and 507 of the Indian Penal Code against the caller. Furthermore, the police are tracing other details, such as the location of the caller, from the phone number provided by Kapoor.
Goldie Brar is a notorious gangster associated with the Bishnoi Gang. It is said that he is currently operating from Canada. Goldie first came into the limelight after he threatened Bollywood star Salman Khan, after which he absconded and shifted to Canada to escape the police arrest.
