Thane: Dombivli Mattress Factory Engulfed In Blaze, Cause Suspected As Short Circuit
Dombivli, 22nd October 2023: A mattress factory in Dombivli was engulfed in flames on a Saturday afternoon, resulting in the destruction of valuable assets within the facility. While the precise cause of the fire remains unknown, initial investigations suggest that a short circuit may have been involved.
This factory, now heavily damaged by the fire, is located on the ground floor of the Navsankalpa building in the Nandivali Panchanand area. The building’s ground floor houses a variety of commercial offices, among which is the manufacturing unit responsible for producing mattresses and pillows.
On Saturday afternoon, a sudden fire erupted in this factory. As soon as nearby traders learned about the accident, they attempted to extinguish the fire by tossing water from a bucket onto it. However, as the conflagration surged into an alarming space, they meanwhile called the fire brigade personnel, informing them of the conflagration.
Within a short span of time, fire brigade personnel reached the spot and brought the fire under control. However, till then, raging inferno wreaked heavy losses to the factory. According to the information, approximately 70 percent of the factory goods were reduced to ashes in this incident. Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, preliminary guesses of the fire brigade hinted that the fire may have started due to a short circuit.
